New Hydrating Facial Mask-Works Great (on All Skin Types)
A new natural hydrating facial mask works on all types of skin and skin tones. Most masks don't work well if at all. Why does this facial mask do so well? Let's find out so your complexion can benefit(safely).
Petrolatum- Not Good (Crude Oil Product)
If your complexion tends to be oily, you do not want to use a product containing petrolatum. It is not compatible with the skin's natural oils, which doctors refer to as sebum.
Since there is no compatibility, petrolatum is not absorbed into the skin's layers. It will cause a greasy feeling and can clog the pores, if not washed away with a de-greasing agent.
If you used a de-greasing agent, you would have to follow-up with a good moisturizer in order to avoid excessive dryness. One nice thing about having an oily complexion is that you are less likely to have wrinkles.
So, even if you want to get rid of a little bit of sebum, you don't want to dryness. On the short-term, you would simply stimulate the production of more sebum, which would cause more oiliness. On the long-term, you would probably have symptoms of premature aging.
Mineral Oil - Not Good (Crude Oil By Product)
A hydrating mask for all skin types will not contain mineral oil. It is essentially liquid petrolatum. Another bad ingredient is paraffin. Even if your complexion is dry, these ingredients can clog the pores and cause blemishes. They won't really relieve the dryness, anyway, because they are not actually moisturizers.
Allergens
If your complexion is sensitive, prone to allergic or adverse reactions, there are several common ingredients to avoid. A hydrating mask for all skin types will not contain artificial preservatives or added fragrances. Those are the most common causes of allergic and adverse reactions.
Be wary of "essential oils". They are different from essential fatty acids. They are actually concentrated plant fragrances, which can also cause allergic reactions.
The Good Stuff - Best Ingredients (Truly Natural)
Once you have determined that the ingredients mentioned above are not included in the product, you want to evaluate the moisturizers. The best moisturizers include glycerin, avocado oil and macadamia oil. Functional Keratin and RIGIN are excellent moisturizers, too.
Those ingredients can be found in a hydrating mask for all skin types. They are compatible with sebum. So, they are quickly and completely absorbed. Most people find after using masks of this type that most of the compounds are absorbed within 20 minutes. Any excess is just wiped off with a tissue.
Active manuka honey is something else to look for on the label. Because of its natural antibacterial activity, it helps to heal existing blemishes and prevents new ones from forming.
Masks that are loaded with antioxidants can help reduce the damage done by free radicals and UV rays of sunlight. Manuka has antioxidant activity. Avocado oil and Functional Keratin do, too.
