Are You The Top Home Based Franchise Rock Star, Or Still A Garage Band Wanna-Be?
When you are on your weekly compnay teleconferences and they talk about the leaders of the company, the ones that are currently making it happen in their home based franchise, they often refer to these people as the rock stars.
Let’s face it. You are listening to the leaders drone on and on about these rock superstars and you are getting tight in the stomach, right? You desperately want to be that rock star. I don’t know one direct sales person who doesn’t want to be the leader of their own band...the Bruce Springsteen of their top home based franchise, so to speak. But, the reality is...just as in the music industry, very few actually ever make it to the big time.
Don’t get me wrong, many have the talent. Many have more talent than those who are actually at the top. There are also those who get the honors of the number one hit for a month or two. But many more are either the one hit wonder, have their month of celebrity, and then drop off the charts and burn out or they quit before they ever knew if they had rock start potential or not.
Do you have what it takes to be the top home based franchise Rock Star?
Do you have incredible talent – Can you do it all? Can you play the guitar, be the lead vocal, and be the showman that doesn’t burn out after the first couple of songs? Do you have the endurance to continue rocking hard well into the second set and still have enough at the end for that incredible forever long encore?
Can you harmonize with everyone else in your band? Do you appreciate your tech people and let them know it? Do you listen and put into action the suggestions of your manager, and can you strategize and implement the advise from your back -up vocals when they think that they can help make the concert even better?
Can you write lyrics that your fans will listen to time and time again? Are they filled with the passion and the words that get your fans at the core of their heart and make them want to cry if your song is a love song?
Do you have the confidence, to be the leader that your fans want to follow? Do you lead by example? Do you walk the walk every morning, even when you’ve had a late night the night before? Do see the potential of your younger or newer fans, even when they might not know all of the lyrics to every one of your songs?
Have you proven your talent with good material consistently over time? Can your talent spread over several genres of music or are you one dimensional?
So tell me. Do you believe yourself talented enough to be in the Best Home Based Franchise Hall of Fame? Will your leather jacket hang on the walls of Hard Rock Café in London?
Most direct marketers would like to THINK of themselves as a legendary rock star, and their home based franchise as the rock band that has the sell-out crowds, but don’t display the work ethic to actually become that person or group.
Have you ever thought about what it took for any of the Greats to become the legends that they are? Have you ever thought that they, too, needed to persist and to achieve in the face of challenges and adversity? Have you ever realized that the legends had to face rejection after rejection and spend endless hours writing, producing, practicing and rehearsing just to eventually have one of their singles make a few measly sales? But through persistence, dedication and hard work, those few sales became more sales, and finally a number one song, a platinum album and even a sellout concert.
WOW! – No wonder so few people make it in the industry.
Think about the legends that are familiar to you. These stars achieved their status by putting in years of hard work. Most rose from humble beginnings to stardom by working hard, taking advantage of their talent, persisting with passion to reach their goals of stardom and most importantly, they never gave up on those dreams
