Flex Ratings In Golf Club - Keeping It In Mind
A few things need to be considered by an individual who wants his style of golfing to be perfect. It might be overwhelming to know how many items need to be considered. You should look at the head’s weight, shaft’s length, its grip and all other points that contribute to the perfect shot that you would give. The club's flex is one of the important things that deserve attention. The flex ratings vary between different golf clubs and choosing the right one could make a difference between a game that will be good and a game that will be the best. To start with, it might prove difficult to find out the flex ratings, but once you gain some experience, you would be able to choose the one with the perfect flex. Before that, there are a few things that one should know about shaft flex.
The bending of the shaft is difficult to understand but it will have a great influence when you swing the shaft. The force with which you swing the shaft flexes the shaft and this can helping figuring out the shaft's flex. The movement of club can help you decide whether it is flexible or shift. The shaft's flex rating will depend on the material that has gone into the making of the club and the process of its making. You may be ignorant of the kind of flex that is used in the club. You can always consult with an expert in golf to take a look at the club and clear all your doubts. If you happen to know the club's flex rating you are currently using, it is easier for you to go in for a new club.
The major flex ratings are R, L, S and XS where R stands for Regular, S for Senior, and L for Ladies and XS for Extra Stiff. Most players use the first three ratings. You need to try all these and choose the one depending on the category you belong to. This will help in figuring your flex ratings. If you are not comfortable with the club that you are currently using, it means you need to go in for a new one. You need to study your ways of swinging and do an analysis of the process of swinging to determine the flex rating ideal for you in your game play.
When you conduct a technical study of the club, one of the things you should. Ascertain is the speed at which you swing and this is dependant on the way in which you swing your club. If you are used to swinging fast, you should go in for a shaft that is stiff with the rating being XS. This rating will give a fast swing. For a slower swing, the recommended flex ratings are R and L. These ratings are based on compiled and arbitrary data. You need not be bothered if you're a man and comfortable with L rating or vice versa as men can also play with a golf club wit L rating.
Shafts are generally made of graphite or steel and as said earlier the material that has gone into the making of the shaft will have an influence on the swing. The materials used have their own properties and the flex ratings will be different for each of them. If the shaft is made of steel, it is said to have a low torque rating. Golfers prefer materials as per their styles. If you happen to go in for a golf club, firstly, determine the material you are used to and convenient with before making a choice.
If you're not very experienced, choosing the flex rating might prove difficult. As days pass, once you become familiar with the game, you will be able to determine the flex rating that is ideal for you. Once you become used to that, buying a new shaft or determining the shaft's flex rating will become a left hand job and it will help you see a steady growth in your game and be comfortable with the clubs.
